FLAS remains the leading organisation in the field of youth sexual and reproductive health services including HIV/AIDS in Swaziland through the delivery of innovative, youth focused services; the sharing of best practices and knowledge; through advocacy and partnerships; and sustainable, gender sensitive service delivery models that result in the prevention and reduction of unwanted pregnancies, maternal mortality, sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, unsafe abortions and gender based violence.

ABOUT FLAS
The Family Life Association of Swaziland (FLAS) is a not-for-profit making Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), founded at an inaugural meeting in December 1979. It is the largest and leading organisation in the provision of innovative sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. It plays a complementary role to the activities of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOH&SW). It also advocates for the reproductive health rights of all people in the reproductive age.


In 1999, FLAS adopted a paradigm shift, which will see the Association concentrating on young people between the ages of 10 - 24 as the primary target group and focusing on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. FLAS has two static Youth Friendly Centres situated in Mbabane and Manzini. They house recreational facilities and clinics. FLAS's clinic and out-reach activities are supported by an extensive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) effort.
